Sadie is our dear friends’ daughter, and her birthday party was Sunday! It was a beautiful day for smashing cake, opening presents, and lots of snuggles.

It is so much fun to photograph friends! These two are expecting their first child in August and I had so much fun with them on a lovely Saturday afternoon. (Except that it was a bit windy at times, but we worked through it!) 🙂 I love it when people trust my creativity but also feel free to suggest ideas they would like to try, which is exactly what Abby did. Meet Sarah.
We went to college together, and she’s marrying a fellow oxy alum this fall! Her family had planned a vacation in Santa Ynez and her dad was interested in having photos done for everyone there. It seemed like they were all having a great time when I got there on Sunday afternoon – the view was amazing, everyone looked fantastic, and they were all hilarious and fun to photograph! 🙂 I can only imagine what the sunset looks like from the house they’re renting!! Here is a handful of my favorites from the afternoon – there are many more that I LOVE and I hope this is just what you were hoping for, Sarah! 🙂

I love baby showers: the goofy games, yummy food, and giving gifts to a new mommy are so much fun! This one did not disappoint. Abby is a beautiful mom-to-be, and her daughter is due in august. I had fun eating ice cream and listening to words of encouragement from all her friends. I’m so excited to photograph Abby and Eddie this weekend and to meet their new baby girl in August! Best wishes for a smooth delivery, Abby! 🙂

I love the rusty pieces, even though it seems that the playground needs some paint. And that fence! I have to use this park for family photos! There are so many places to use! 🙂
I have been reading about the For the Love workshop for months now. There are SO MANY reasons I would love to attend this gathering of amazing Christian photographers. I have been praying and searching for direction in my business for awhile now – I truly feel blessed that God has given me an eye for beauty in all things and believe that He has given me this opportunity to have my own business. I am also thirsty to learn more about this craft and have the opportunity to learn from other photographers who love Jesus and want to follow Him – I think it truly gives us a unique vision of what our businesses can be. I would love to meet new friends in the industry and worship together. I would also love to think and talk about balancing my life – between owning a business, being a full-time mom and wife, I feel that it’s often difficult to do.
It’s been a few weeks since I’ve participated in an iheartfaces challenge! I saw that this week was all about babies, and had to enter! Newborn photography is something I’ve been getting more into lately, and just love the teeny little toes and wrinkles and brand-newness! I took this photo a few months ago, and still love it. This little man was about 7 weeks when I photographed him, and I’m looking forward to our next session this weekend! 🙂 Click on the button at the top to check out all the sweet babies or enter your own! 🙂
